I have been using boiled linseed oil on my cedar bird houses and other spring items for market. The instructions tell me to mix two parts mineral spirits to one part linseed oil. I did it with my first products, but skipped it the last few items. Now I mixed it again and I think it helps to richen the color more. When I didn't mix I got a dull finish that looks good, but isn't a rich in color. Is it because the mineral spirits thins the oil down and it can penetrate better? Or am I just a crazy old dirty hoe lover?

I am teaching architecture to high school students and interior design is part of the course and I like to assign a cardboard furniture challenge. Like making a chair from Amazon boxes etc. I want to kick it up a notch. What kind of furniture build would you want to see made from cardboard? What would wow you?
